Frequently asked questions
Questions and answers
The questions we are asked most often – about materials, dimensions and working together. Your question not among them? Give us a call or send us a message.
What widths are silicone-coated films available in?
Standard widths range from 20 mm to a maximum of approx. 2,200 mm. Single-sided, easy-release PET films of 19 – 75 µ are available in widths up to 6,500 mm. Various formats and circular blanks are available in addition.
What roll lengths are possible?
Traverse-wound liners achieve roll lengths of up to 60,000 linear metres.
What is the difference between SILPHAN, SILPROP and SILTHENE?
The carrier material. SILPHAN are silicone-coated liners made of BO-PET and A-PET with high mechanical strength, temperature resistance above 160 °C and dimensional stability. SILPROP is made of polypropylene and is particularly suited to premium release, bi-silicone-coated liners and low-cohesion adhesives. SILTHENE are liners made of HDPE and LDPE – the ideal carrier where flexibility and elongation are required.
Can release values be matched to our process?
Yes. The films are single- or double-sided release, and the release values are adjustable. For fibre composites we match them precisely to the respective resin system.
Can the films be printed?
Yes. All films are printable and available in various carrier colours. For self-adhesive mailing bags and packaging, printing beneath the silicone is also possible.
Which hot melt types do you offer?
Hot melt adhesives from Savaré in PSA, PO and EVA types – thermoplastic processing, trial coating possible. Plus the globally patented Safemelt® protective film. UV absorbers and further additives on request.
Which finishing steps do you offer?
Laminating, micro-perforating, die-cutting, slitting and winding – all in roll form. On request including special presentation, further processing and packaging. Textiles, films, foams and papers can be laminated.
Do you also develop new materials?
Yes – from the initial idea through to series production: new release liners, modified silicone systems and adapted hot melt systems. We often join early in the concept phase, when the production line has not yet been built or the product structure is still open. Manufacturer-neutral and confidential.
Which countries do you supply?
To the DACH region, Benelux and Poland – Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Poland. We are based in Goch on the Lower Rhine.
